My wife brought it home and the heat didn't work worth a crap. This pickup would always roast you, if the heat was cranked up. I tried flushing the heater core, but it only worked for a day. The whole system was full of junk. We ran a cleaner through the radiator and engine, then flushed them. I ran out of time and had Mike put a new heater core in it. The girls are gonna pickup the Dodge and Brooke's truck tonight. Hopefully everything is working now!

I changed the oil too. It had 15W40 in it. I'm suprised it started as good as it did with that thick of oil.

Don't be surprised to see a drop in oil pressure. I had a friend change my oil while I was out working a few years ago. He was working in the farm shop and didn't see the 10-30 I had on the back seat... it got filled with 15-40 (delo). I still have to run it now to keep my oil pressure up.

A new axle shaft. wheel bearing and bolts later, we were back in business. It wouldn't have gotten this bad if there were hubs I could have unlocked.

Holy smokes, that thing is indeed crusty. I would be real tempted to borrow/rent a power-washer, and go absolutely berserk....

That'll have to wait until at least April or May. It is disappointing how rusty it is. I'll have to get it cleaned up and see how it looks.

Ah, Wisconsin... Yeah, not really the time of year to be playing with high pressure water.

I would get the sand blasting wand and not only remove the dirt but some of the rust also! Then some good primer/rust converter.
