THANKS HEYYOU!!!!

Got the fuel rail today. Other than the inlet being bent and some surface rust, it is excellent. Here are a couple pictures to show the difference between the 97 fuel rail and the 98+ rails:

Inlets. 97 top, 98 bottom

98+ left, 97 right. Note the difference in the crossover lines at top. 97 also has thicker mount tabs with brass inserts, one of which is beveled so a regular bolt wont work.

Stymied by the flywheel yet again. Why is it that all the auto parts stores I look at claim the magnum 318 never came with a manual trans?

Let's see who can spot what's missing:

Anyone have a flywheel laying around from a 318 magnum they want to get rid of? Depending on the price, I'll probably get this one machined.

Not sure if it helps but the factory parts manual lists 53020521 as the Mopar part number. You may be able to get a cross reference from on of the parts houses. And apologies if you already thought of this/

No notches for the crank sensor.......

And yes indeed, the 318 most certainly DID come with a manual trans.

HeyYou, I know they came with a 318, but for the life of me I can't find a flywheel searching for specific vehicles. It's had me pulling my hair out. Probably just not looking at the right stores. Mostly napa then carquest because they are the closest (napa 14 miles, carquest 80 miles). Most of the rest are 90+ miles away.

I'll return the one on the engine tomorrow, and see if summit will take theirs back (130 tooth). If not I'll have to try to sell it. That should be fun.

Summit is real good about taking stuff back. Don't ask me how I know. After ordering the wrong piston like 3 times.

I'm just hoping they don't pitch a fit because I've been sitting on it for 6 or 7 months.

Woo-hoo!!! Flywheel showed up today, and it's even the right one thankfully. $140 total through Amazon. It wasn't scheduled to arrive until friday, but it showed up about 20 minutes before I got home tonight. Here are a few pictures:

Little different than the last one

Full view of side panel in case someone wants the qr code.

Close up of part number for easier reading.

Thank you for the help on this thing. I was going nuts trying to find the right part. Hopefully I'll get it stuffed this week. Might be fun since it looks like a couple 14 hour days at work this week.

Little bit of progress today. I got very lucky stuffing this thing. I had shoved it in close then rolled underneath with my wife running the cherry picker. We got the trans input started then she ran off to deal with children. I literally shook it a couple times and it fell into place. I was able to start a couple bell housing bolts, then a gentle twist to get the dowels in place.
As it sits now, the starter, dust plate, bell housing, and motor mount bolts are all tight. The exhaust is in place waiting to be tightened. That got side-tracked when a friend showed up to "help" me. Lol. I did get the power steering pump sitting loose on the engine while we were BSing.
Tomorrow I should get the rest of that done and have a good start on the electrical. Hopefully it will have fire Friday afternoon. Everyone keep your fingers crossed for me please.

(PS, this was done after a 13 plus hour work day with about 3 hours of sleep last night. I'm afraid to know what I've missed. Lol.)
