Not sure how you went about fuel sync.
No, no dyno yet. Still need to make some calls. I did fuel sync according to the book, "eyeball it here and it should run". Lol. Want to mail me that MT2500, and I'll mail it back when I'm done? (Only semi-serious).

I called the closest stealership about setting fuel sync:

Them: Hello, this is blah blah blah service, how can we help you?

Me: Hi. I've got a 97 dodge ram 1500 with a 5.9 360. I was wondering if you can set the fuel sync for me after the distributor has been disturbed. It might be called something else by you guys, but I think we can figure it out.

Them: Uuummmm, just a moment please......... about 5 minutes go by...... Hello sir, I'm sorry, but all we are capable of with that old of a truck is to read the trouble codes, and test actuators.

Me: Well, if I bring the truck over, by the way I live about 90 miles away, would I be allowed to help the technician find the proper area in the computer. I'll pay for the time involved, and the tech can do the work, or I can. Either way.

Them: Well sir, we would be happy to help you, but for one; customers are not allowed in the service area, and for two; like I said earlier, all we can do is read codes and test actuators. I don't think we can help you with this specific problem.

Me (getting frustrated): Well sir, if you can test actuators on a jtec controlled engine, you should be able to do what I'm asking. If your techs haven't been properly trained in the use of the computer system they are using, I truly feel sorry for your customers.

Them: Our techs have the highest qualifications in southern utah. The ECM in your truck has never been able to do anything except what I've already stated.

Me: Well sir, considering the fact that you are the ONLY dodge dealership between las vegas and salt lake, I hope you have the highest qualifications seeing as you're the only game for 100 miles south, or 300 miles north. I'll make sure that anyone that asks my opinion knows that you have the most qualified parts changers in southern utah.

Them (getting stiff): If that's your opinion sir, you are welcome to it. Thank you for your call.

Me: Thank you for your courtesy through this call. Have a nice day. Good bye. :End call:

I don't know if I dare go there for parts any more. They might recognize my voice. Lol

Compared to the runaround we went through to get a simple Recall done on our Dart, that's nothing.

For grins, you should report your customer service experience incident to FCA.

Frankie, I have a MT2500 you can use. I don't need it until I get my engine done. So I have no issues with boxing it up and sending it your way. Set your fuel sync and what ever else you have to monitor and when you're done with it send it back. Let me know if you want to use it. I'll just send you the items you need and not the whole case that I have.

FCA?

I Would be more than willing to lend you my mt2500. However, when I get back home (been away in a hotel working for the last three months) I have to fix my abs issue somehow so I can get an inspection sticker. So I'll need it for that.

If something happens and you can't get wildman's for whatever reason (not calling anyone out just I know stuff happens) let me know.

Only good thing about living out of a hotel room is the clean (ish) sheets every night with someone else making the bed and cleaning the room.

If anything happens with wildman, I'll definitely get in touch with you.

Frank,
Okay I got your stuff ready and like I said I'd take some pictures to show you what was coming.

Just so you know the battery compartment is on the left end of the scanner.

You just remove the rubber cap that is on the end.

Here are the two cables I'm sending you. The one is for the OBD II adapter which is also where you have to install the key. In the Chry book it said Key# 13 so I sent that and #13A to you.

Next is the two Chry adapters for other than the OBDII connection. I can't tell you what they connect to and they might not even work on your truck. But I sent them just in case. The book will tell you what they are for unless someone on here can tell you?

And here are the two keys I am sending.

And then the two manuals for your reading pleasure.

All boxed up read to ship.

So like I told you I am not going to need the scanner until I get the engine built for my Jeep. So you have a while. Keep it for as long as you need and use it for other stuff other than just setting your fuel sync. Since mine is a graphing scanner you can watch for glitches in your sensors and stuff. Good luck and once you get it and have it hooked up if you need help finding the fuel sync I'll help where I can.
