craftsman hands down....no questions asked exchange....snap-on on the other hand diff. story when i started my ASE Auto technician program in 97 i bought all snap on......i sold them all after i graduated because i had such a hard time getting the broke tools exchanged....so i went with craftsman ever since then no problems at all.

craftsman all the way - reason being-

local, you can run to sears any time you want, instead of waiting for the snap on truck to arrive

price, dont cost an arm and a leg for good quality hand tools

quality, cant beat it

innovation, one of the few companies that are ALWAYS updating and improving their stuff, every year their tool catalog has pages added to it

warrenty, speaks for itself!

I do like craftsman, but for the price I have used a lot of other tools that have done just as well.
and I have a LOT of tools from Harbor Frieght that have suprisingly taken a lot of abuse.

Sears, I used to work for sears and from talking to some of the emoployees, sears won't be in existance for much longer. I think craftsman should get bought or break away and become it's own entity so we don't lose it.

snap-ons are awesome but expensive!! Here in Canada i like the Canadian Tire brand Mastercraft. they make a professional series that isa great quality, affordableand guaranteed for life. I'veonly had the misfortune of braking a socket once (trying to use the wrong tool for the job, adapted a 1/4" drive to a 3/8" drive socket and broke the adapter)and they replaced no questions asked. and from what i've heard no one has ever had a problem returning things

I got a set of Metwrenchs about 10 years ago and use them for just about everything. Other than those I use Craftsman. Father got me my first set when I was just a kid and have taken back quite a few ratchets over the years with no hassle.
Most likely my sons first set of tools will be a Crasftsman set.
