At the 'ole stop light tonight I was next to a Mustang, not the brand new ones but the last body style they did, like the 2002's and such. I didn't really notice until the night turned green. Had the window down and heard him rev rice burner up as he took off so I, just for fun, gave her some more juice nice and slow to try to keep up, putting her right to the floor.
To my surprise with his rice burner exhaust screaming away in a horrible sounding, annoying fashion, I kept in front of him a bit, I thought he wasn't trying very hard until he hit 2nd and once again heard his rice burner screaming away, sounding like a dying giraffe or something. Sure enough this poor son of a gun was giving his Mustang all it had.
The sad part is that my truck is big, old, and slow. Slow enough that a gang of 6 year olds on their bicycles could probably beat me in the 1/4 mile. And if those 6 years could be ME, a gang of granny's with their 4 legged walker scould probably beat a Mustang!
So I have a question for all you people who like cars and/or Ford. Do Mustangs suck THAT bad! I mean dang! I know many of them only have 6 cylinders but do any have 4 bangers? Cause if they did this one had one, hell maybe it was just a 2 stroke out of a weed wacker.

sounds like a 6'r.
We should call this the mustang kill thread
I remember when I went to englishtown raceway there was a 99 GT 5spd with drag radials that was running consistant 15.5s, which really shocked me, but what really shocked him was when he got beat by a pickup that wasnt a lightning or a cyclone.
mustangs seem to be dieing off arround me, a few years ago you couldnt go a block without seeing a stang, now there are more F body gm's than anything, and they are a little much to handle just yet.
but to answer your question, yes they did come in 4 bangers, and they did have a turbo 4 (this is the fox body im talking about) the N/A 4 cyl was a complete dog, like 95 hp or something, but the SVO turbo 4 was a little faster than the 5.0 5spd in stock trim, not much but a little. There are some fanatics out there that have wickedly fast svo's and turbo 4 foxes.

I've heard they're way slow. I know the old notch backs from the 80's and early 90's with the 5.0L only had 160 hp. My buddy ran his 03 1500 Z71 Sierra 5.3L against a 1998 5.0L Cobra and the cobra did not get ahead. Lame in my opinion that full size trucks will run with them...

its all about strength... not speed.
i used to be hardcore ford . i actually used to sell thim. the mustangs are fun to drive around, expecially the gt but they are POS'. the mechanic gave me an inside sayin if that engine runs hot for a min, it will warp and the warrenty wont cover it. typical ford.
