Oh where, oh where has my antifreeze gone???
Alright, I'm stumped and need some help guys and gals.
My '99 Ram Sport is loosing antifreeze. The reservoir will be almost empty by the time I'm ready to fill up if I topped it off the last time I got gas.
There's nothing in the cab, no puddles under the truck, nothing in the oil - it's just up and vanishing. Okay, okay, I know it's not vanishing - but anyone have any ideas where it may be going.
I'm having a hard time tracking this one down, so I'm not sure what to fix.

I would think maybe the heater core has a leak or maybe you've got a head gasket gone. If you crank the heat on high and by the time it heats up, do you smell antifreeze? If not, the core is probably ok. Does it ever run hot? Maybe on the highway at higher RPMs?

To be honest, I haven't used the heat in a while since the weather heated up around here. But I can try that tonightt on the way home from work.
If it was the heater core though, wouldn't I get some type of fluid in the cab on the floorboards?
As far as temp goes, I've been watching the gauges closely and all seems wel? - oil press. and temp.
1) to make sure that it doesn't overheat since i'm losing coolant, and 2) I figured in addition to being able to see coolant in the oil if it was there, that it would also make the oil pressure creep up due to increase fluid volume

you are probably leaking onto a manifold and it's evaporating before you notice it. Do you have a split in the heater hose where they connect to do a backflush? I had a leak there due to a prestone "T" that you use to flush the heater core. I Had to tighten the clamps really tight to get it to seal. It dripped right onto the exhaust manifold and evaporated before I could see it.
