Headed in the right direction
Tell me, when you say you have to let off the gas to for it to shift, do you mean you can hold the gas and it wont shift period, or it will just shift really late? On my camaro it wont shift until about 4 grand, and I love it that way.
get a lawyer , you be hard press to get anywhere , the trans shop will say , we tried to keep him happy but never was , plus who here is a trans expert or you will have to take it to a trans shop so they can drive it tear it down , bla , bla , bla . then you will lose on that cause some one else split the trans open , then they will say thats there problem not ours , didnt you already have it at the dealer ?? fine line here..
The guy at the shop already basically voided the warranty, IMO, when he told him he never wanted to see the truck again. Not much to lose by taking it some place else. Just don't have them do anything, just have them check the work, if you do take it someplace. But first, yes, talk to a lawyer, see what s/he thinks.
Agreed. Another thing that I want to press home hard is that everytime they fix one problem, something new pops up. After they fixed the sensors, now my transmission is having a hard time shifting out of gears. It's acting dumb. It will just hold the note of the rpm and just be hanging there acting like it doesn't know to shift, and then finally it will shift if I let off or if it hits a certain mph. Overdrive appears to be higher than usual too. It used to shift into overdrive at 45. Now it's going in at 52mph, which sucks because I'm usually not getting over speeds of 50 around town, so it's just making a lot of noises avoiding getting into OD. Something is wrong in the transmission, and it's more than a tv cable fix I believe. Everytime I've had them fix a specific problem with the unit, something new comes up that wasn't there before. I had them get rid of the hard clunk out of first. When they did that, the transmission wouldn't shift at WOT. When I had them try to smooth out the overdrive shift, it started jumping in and out of lockup in overdrive. When I had them fix the lockup issue in overdrive, now it seems to be shifting late and refusing to shift at WOT. Recently that had it for 2 solid work weeks. They obviously test drove it and saw that it was still shifting choppy. Hence gave me a $430 bill, to scare me off.
So basically you have a transmission that runs like crap and no warranty now? I'd get a lawyer for sure. If that doesn't work which it may or may not I'd chalk it up to a big loss and get a APS before I would pay a $400 and some bill with them then still have them dealing with this issues. This shop just sounds pure shady. There is no way they should charge you for those parts since they didn't clear them with you and there is no way they should void your warranty. I don't know what all they did but $400 in labor for replacing the TPS sensor is crazy. It has 2 torx screws and takes all of 3 minutes if that to change out. Not sure what else they changed.
after doing some reading on this trans shop , give em hell neon , a few people are happy with there work ,
Some complaints people had was that it was the PCM not the trans , but it was the trans , seems they are passing the problem onto other things and not looking at them selfs
just make sure you have doc everything , If they void the warrenty get the money back , they broke that contract hell get them for pain and suffer..lol , get em for a new or rebuilt trans , yes its faulty , but , its not cause of the lift(lol) big tires (lol) its there own doing , i like to know what they did with the pcm if anything .. But rember write down every little detail on what happen from start to finish..google search the trans shop and read some of the bad reviews , and print them for the lawyer , Now try to get the truck to some one who knows what they are doing !!! and get them to write a detail info on what they think is going on with the trans..

Ok, so you're going after a snake in the grass with another snake in the grass (lawyer)? Why don't you just take it to small claims court and sue for the $4k or the small claims max (whatever that is in Maine)? You would be a lot better off in my opinion, otherwise, you are going to wind up with a $20k junk tranny on your hands after you pay the lawyer. If you don't want to take them to small claims, chalk up your loss, and find a shop that knows what they're doing, or save the money for one of these aftermarket tranny's the forum recommends and start over from scratch. Have a competent shop make the swap or (gasp!) make the swap yourself. I know it sucks having a machine that doesn't work right, but the only person who's going to get you out of this bad situation is YOU.
