It's a true disgrace this shop.

Monte, since you are a professional transmission technician, would you be willing to write a somewhat formal observation of that transmission for me on this thread? I would like to send my lawyer your observation. You don't have to make it out to me or anything, but stating what you see wrong with it, and what should be in it for what I paid for would be extremely helpful to me. Thank You.

The only parts i would consider HD are the servo kits he used. The two valves he listed usually already come in those "reman" valve bodies.

I wouldnt mind at all. I dont know how much it will help you. Im basing my opinion on what you posted over the internet. IF that is all he put in it then its junk. It would probably be better if i was there and drove the truck, and checked a few things. But if you just want a statement based on what you posted, i dont mind.

Thank You. And yes, it would be better if you could drive the truck. I can tell you though, it's had problems since the first day I picked it up. Every time that I've tasked them to fix something, something new comes up when I get the truck back. There is a bug in this transmission it feels, and they just keep moving it around avoiding getting it out of there.

If you have time today to write a statement today, that'd be great. I want to have it as supporting evidence that this transmission is not what it's been made up to be. That was everything listed on that build sheet. For what I paid, it should have had everything and then some a performance unit should have, let alone a stock unit. Thanks again Monte.

I called the Dodge dealership today out of curiosity and asked them if they would be willing to install a customer's transmission. She said they don't usually do it, but that they would be willing to do so. I told her that I was potentially buying an expensive unit from APS Precision and that I wanted somebody reputable to install it for me. She said she understood. However, they are not willing to put any kind of warranty on this, is this normal? If most transmission shops wouldn't warranty a customers product, then I want to go through the dealership. So I have it recorded thoroughly, and they will know how to install and adjust the tv cable properly. I called Wayne and left a message how I was still nervous about the whole idea of buying a unit across the country. He should be calling me back soon and filling me in with how he plans to warranty his product, and what he will do if for some reason something goes wrong after the install. IF I do buy this APS, I will be for sure going against what my parents want. They have seen what happened to me before with a "performance unit", so naturally it has a bad stigma now. If I go APS, I want to be absolutely made sure that there is not a way for me to be screwed over here.

I would say it's normal for the dealership to offer no warranty. They don't know if you are putting in complete junk or not. The only downside there is if they install it wrong you may have a problem but for the most part you should be good as long as they install it correctly.

As for Wayne I never had all that much luck with him calling me back but I kept calling until I got him which I always did. I think I only asked him to call me back once or maybe twice. I'm not sure if I left a message any or just asked his wife to have him call me back as she answered once. I found it easier to just call him until I got him.

He has always been good about returning my emails. I have called him a total of maybe 4 times and have gotten him right away each time. He has always been good about returning my emails as well. He is usually busy, but he always finds the time to answer any questions I come up with. As it stands right now, he should be sending my NEW transmission sometime soon. I can hardly wait...

Well, now I'm having a problem with my transmission. It seems to have lost reverse today. I just got off the phone with Wanye and he told me to adjust the band and then if that doesn't work we will go to the next step. I guess even the APS ones can fail. I have the worst luck with this truck. I thought I had the A/C fixed but it's got a slow leak and now this damn transmission.

Anything you buy that has more than one part in it always comes from some where else, one little defective part can make a company look bad. As far as your AC goes, changing the evap core was probably needed (and now you don't have to worry about that) , but you went the whole nine yards and did the compressor too. The money you spent on that from the dealer you should have invested in one of these. http://search.ebay.com/tif-zx-1_W0QQ...rprZ8QQxpufuZx. You rushed into changing everything too quick, like I do! LOL
