I just got off the phone with DTT, and she told me they don't build transmissions for gas engines?

I know DTT is supposed to be good but I was thinking they didn't make transmission for gas engines but didn't know for sure. That's why I didn't suggest them.

I think what the other guys were getting at is they build really good components for transmissions, and therefore any shop that works with DTT parts should be good.

Glad you're considering all the options Neon. Good luck!

bull ****, they don't do gas engine trannies. A tranny is a tranny. The tranny behind a v10 is practically the same as what's behind a diesel. You just spoke with the wrong person. The idea I suggested was that you get some second opinions and possibly some quotes. Don't think anything about how the grass is greener on the other side just yet.

Just thought I'd throw that thread in there to show you that you aren't promised a perfect product when you go through the dealership.

I thought I'd share an update with you guys. A couple of weeks ago the transmission shopped refused to give us our money back, but offered to take the truck back to fix it again. I told my lawyer I would bring it back there under the condition of it being completely replaced. Today I was informed they have agreed to replace the transmission. They believe it is the truck and not their transmission, but will still replace it. However, I am not having them install another performance unit. I'm having a stock transmission installed. No bull****, no excuses. I'll know more later, but wanted to let you guys know what was going on in a nutshell.

i had problems with my tranny at 82,000 miles.....about 3,000 before that i installed a shift kit. i kept getting a faulty soleniod due to metal. i had it flushed it worked for two weeks then went haywire again. jasper transmissions are the way to go. check out the website. its far better than buying an new stock transmission bc they eleviate the problems dodge had in designing. and it also has a 3yr, 100,000 mile warranty (part+labor)....check it out. www.jasperengines.com

Have you ever taken a tour of the jasper "rebuilding" facility? If you did you wouldnt be touting their name all over the web.

I have heard the 46re doesn't circulate fluid when it is in Park, causing heating just while it's sitting. Do you guys think I should ask the shop to make it so it does circulate fluid while it is in Park. Also, what does it take to do this, is it anything time consuming?
