Bigger Oil filter for the 360/318 -Cheap-
A couple times, actually, when FRAM filters were used. Cardboard junk.
Hey, check this out.. this would get rid of the limit of filter size because of it hitting our frame...

Some have claimed a restriction due to the 90 degree turn of the oil in extreme performance applications.
If your gonna use a K&N, you might as well just save a little money and by a Mobil ! from walmart. There manufactured by the same company and cost half as much as the K&N'S. I'm using a Mobil 1 right now but on my next change I'm gonna use a Napa filter.
Just a quick thought, if people are looking to increase oil capacity, the oil pan can easily be changed out. I know it's easier and cheaper to just place a larger filter in though. Also, although it was mentioned before, thought I would pass along that Amsoil makes a two quart remote oil system that increases the capacity by two quarts.

I had bad luck with K&N. It was too restrictive on my Dodge and my oil pressure went way up using one of their filters.
I installed one of those on my ac vw.... the scary thing with them is worrying one of the hoses will come off.... the solid one like you posted a pic of is nice but testing showed on many of them that they limit flow at higher rpm's...in racing engines its a bad thing

even though they are made by the same people I believe tests showed they were not made the same....the filter media was different as well as surface area...I agree fram is cheap cardboard crap...and I have to believe when the fibers in the cardboard (or glue) come apart it cant be ideal in the engine...

Ah, I see. They are not the same filter. I was told they were indeed exactly the same by someone on here. Even had a link to some site where, one fella was cutting them open and posting pics of the process as well as the innards.
Interesting to note. Napa gold is wix correct? I think I had seen this mentioned here. However, my memory may be wrong on that one.
I was just going off of what I read on bobistheoilguy.com He seems to know what he's talking about...And yes, napa gold if wix.
