Yeah but you change your oil and filter every 3,000 miles (I change mine every 6,000 miles cause I use amsoil). You change your tranny fluid every 40,000 miles. Your motor oil doesn't really have time to get dirty enough to clogging the filter or get through it.

I had a hose running to the stock air cleaner but I don't have any way to connect it to the air cleaner now. So, I removed the tube and used the filter.
Peace.
Nah, I have a stand alone oil breather too cause I run a 14x3 air hat. Mine doesn't look like an air hat though, I dig that. It's just a crome circle edelbrock one.

I change mine every 6,000(Royal Purple). I change my tranny fluid every 15,000.

Which Amsoil? There is one that lasts 25,000 miles.

Amsoils the one that lasts 25,000 miles. And I actually use to work at a place where they ran amsoil in all their fleet vehicles and they only changed it every 25,000 miles. The stuff really is great. They recommend you change it every 15,000 miles on higher mileage vehicles.

I use to change mine every 10,000 miles, but I just don't feel right going any longer than 6,000 with anything. But that's just me being ****.

As to the filter swap, I was doing this back in the 70's on my Custom Van 318.

Easy though, pipe insulation and zip ties.
It's worth doing.
Forgive me for asking such an obvious question, but why? what benefits have you felt from zip tying those lines?

The zip ties hold the aftermarket insulation in place ... colder air and fewer A/C pump cycles.

You can actually feel the difference in temp? Do you have that insulation threw out the whole A/C system? What about the condensation, it doesn't rot the insulation out? I'm curious 'cause I think I might do that. you triggered my interest.

I haven't done my truck (yet) ... I do have it on my home lines and, yes, the air is colder. The cold line is running through a hot environment, picking up heat. Insulating it helps keep the temperature down.

You don't have to do all of it ... every little bit helps.

The insulation is designed for this application ... no rotting should occur.
