Same threads. I found it on the 51515 part detail page.
Look at the Principal Applications on the 51515 filter. It lists the 51773 filter as a 2-Quart version.

do the 318 have 3/4 inch 16 thread stud off the block for the oil filter to go on

That larger filter lets larger particles by (according to micron rating) and doesn't flow any more GPMs, so I think it's actually a worse filter, not better.
