no relay or no relay slot? the previous owner might have done some shade tree wiring.

no relay, there is a slot. im not sure what the PO did, he did have some mods done but not sure what, he def had a roll bar, the air dam is cut so he had tow hooks/ bull bar/ plow, and there are holes drilled im my A pillar and in the SRS thing on the hump on the floor. he left a plug in the firewall out, and theres a wire that is just coiled up in the engine bay, could never figure it out, it came from CT so i was leaning toward plow and maybe some gauge on the A pillar

I really hope there's a way for us dual relayers to do this.... I've been wanting my fogs on with my highs since I got the damn truck. If it can't be done this way, I'm just gonna wire them up separately....

I have a 96 also. According to Chilton’s wiring diagram, relay number 1 gets its power to energize the relay from the high beams when you turn them on. This then cuts power to relay number 2.
Pull out relay Number 1 On the bottom of the relay the pins are numbered. Check continuity on pins 3 & 4 of the relay, that’s what the numbers were on my relay that had continuity across them. If you have continuity across these 2 pins try placing a fused jumper across those 2 pins and leave the relay out. Let me know if it works for you. I don’t have fog lights so I can not test this myself. Im tying to upload a pdf file of wiring diagram but having issues with that.

Ok its a nice day out today so I'm testin this out. When I pull either relay it kills the fogs, I've tried the jumper wire between the 30/87 pins on both relays, and from 1 relay's pins to the others, still nothin. I'm gonna try this now and let ya know

EDIT: I had contunuity on pins 3/4 also, tried the jumper on relay #1, did nothing. Tried it on Relay #2, and it works!! The fogs stay on with the highs, and still turn off with the foglight switch. I'm goin out to put a fuse on the jumper now, so I'll run it for a while and let yas know how it makes out...

Thanks Dave, between your brains and my grunt work we may have found the answer for the 2 relay setup Someone should edit the DIY

Although this mod may work, it completely bypasses the factory relay. This relay was put in from the factory for a REASON, to use a low amperage source to turn on a high current load. By putting this jumper in and completely taking out the relay, you will be overloading a different circuit on the truck. Even if you aren't blowing fuses, this isn't very safe.

This mod can be done safely buy purchasing an aftermarket kit that accomplishes this goal or buy running a new aftermarket relay for the fogs that is still ran off of the factory switch.

*not trying to be an ***, just trying to save people some electrical issues they may have down the road due to this.

I'm not an electrical engineer by any means, but looking at the relay diagram it seems there would be power going through the bypassed circuit anyway, probably when low beams are on.

This is what I have setup that works for this mod, safe or not. You got me thinkin now anyways.... maybe I'll hold off for a bit while the opinions come in...

haha notice my drl fuse missing, I pulled that out the day I got it

alls this mod is doing is keeping this circuit energized when the high beams come on. the lighting circuit can easily handle the current from the high beams and fog lights. just like it handles both with low beams and fog lights. and worse case, the stock fuse would prevent any overload. if they were wired in series that would cause a problem but the lights are in parallel.
