Glad to hear it. Now don't forget the anti-seize when you put it back together.

Next question - I'm confused on what to pry against to get the carrier out - mine doesn't seem to want to budge - anybody have pics of what they did?

FYI sheriff - I've covered everything in anti-seize so far

Turn the carrier so that the solid part the pin passes thru is facing out toward you. Stick your prybar under that, and stick a block of wood, or somesuch, on the face of the housing that the cover bolts to. Pry gently. Having a friend to help comes in real handy, as the carrier is not exactly light.

i used sheriff's trick and wrapped a strap around the carrier and hooked it to the come-along and the come-along to the tow hook. it worked good.

The come along deal works pretty good. I actually hooked one end to the hitch on my dads truck and had him cranking on it while I was under there with an old pair of jeans on the carrier to catch it without getting cut up by the ring gear.

I've heard from others about the wonders of Kroil. IMHO, WD-40 is for amateurs who wish they could wear big boy panties.
