Default Some Help With Stalling Issues

ok, i have a 96 Dodge Ram 1500 that for a week and a half have had stalling, issues on my truck. I replaced the fuel pump, tps, iac, both battery cables, plugs, wires, cap and rotor. nothing still problem stalling. Finally found the ignition pickup coil under the distributor cap the 3 wires coming out of it were cracked and rubbing against each other. Finally thats what fixed it. my Ram runs like a champ now.

So for anyone who has had stalling issues you might want to check the ignition pick coil, and check the wires coming out of it. it cost me 400+ dollars to find a 26.00 problem.

Good luck

My Truck has the same problem.. the local mechanic told me to change the pickup coil today. How do you get it out/off? If this is the problem it would help alot.. i've been cursing dodge ever since i bought the truck.

its mounted on the front pass side of the block, you cant miss it. just follow your pickup wire from your distributor if you can see it.... its a simple unbolt and rebolt procedure.

the pickup coil is in the distributor remove the cap remove the rotor and its two bolts i believe..it has a pigtail that comes off it that is three wires that just unplugs from the mail harness..its a fairly straight foward job id recommend removing the aircleaner before attempting it..

Dodge and Chev are no comparison as Mopar just plain kicks Chev's straight in the ***.

I used to be a GMC man until I met my first Dodge and the heavens lights affixed.....
