The units are the same but i dont know for sure if the converters are, I would do a physical check of the converters, worst case the stall speeds are different, which wont be a huge deal. Make sure you keep your original unit until you have the used unit in and working. I cant count how many times people have given up their original units and then only to have problems with the used unit and cant get their original back.
I have just bought a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel w/Auto Trans.
I have noticed that sometimes (with OD on or off) that it shifts quickly between 3rd & 4th back & forth until the speed gets fast enough to stay in 4th. At first I thought is was an OD problem, but it will happen even with OD in the off position.
I don't have a history on the trans, so I need some ideas????
what about putting my original converter in this tranny im getting what make a converter bad....thanks for your help again
Since its a used unit i wouldnt worry about putting your old converter in the other trans. If it was a rebuilt trans i would NEVER put a USED converter in it. If the old trans would not move forward or backwards dont use the old converter.
