Youve got two bad solenoids, a bigger electrical problem, or a valvebody issue. If the van almost stalls that means the lock up converter is staying engaged, for whatever reason.
My guess is that the valvebody is the issue. Vehicle has had new governor solenoid installed, overdrive and lockup solenoids installed, and still no difference after being replaced. Van wiring is all good without ever being tampered with and under close examination shows no sign of damage. No major electrical issues exists that I am aware of, so if a electrical issue is at fault, what could it possibly be? I've got the valvebody out and I am double and triple checking that everything opens and closes without a hitch. Please let me know what you think could mess this thing up if its not the valvebody or the solenoids cause those two possibile problems areas are almost all but eliminated. Thanks again in advance.

Default Leaking near front of tranny

I searched this thread and maybe everyone else is smarter than I am, but my 98 with a 5.2 is leaking tranny fluid near the front of the tranny. I thought it was oil first but I finally caught a drop before it dried and it's red. What could be leaking? It also leaks while it's just sitting there.

TIA!
Andrew

Is it dripping off the trans? Or out of the inspection cover?

I haven't taken the cover off yet. I plan on doing that tomorrow if it doesn't rain all day (my garage is full of other cars). So in short, I don't know yet, but will tomorrow. Just thought there might be a quick suggestion.

Hey all new here and need some help.

Have a 94, 2WD, 318 just plain jane, not sure the tranny number. I bought the truck real cheap to get stuff for the house with. I was driving on the highway when i noticed that i was running too high of RPMS for the speed i was going, not redlining just higher than normal. Shifted into neutral then back to drive, and everything was fine. Next day same thing happened tried to shift and it did nothing stayed stuck in 2nd gear. Long story short was driving it on a quick errand and now the thing wont come out of 1st. I changed the filter/fluid and it appeared to be ok, not burnt or any strange color. The guy i bought it from had replaced the the TPS, and i get the feeling he wasnt a mechanical genius after i changed the plugs and they werent gapped at all. The truck is also stalling when i put it into reverse, and now when i try to drive in gear. Could the TPS be the cause of all my troubles or is there something deeper? I took it to my mechanic and he was overwhelmed and just said to replace the tranny, but i've had no slips/grinds or anything and i dont think the whole tranny needs replaced. Thanks for any help possible.

This is where it's dripping from. Is this the inspection cover?

Default 2001 1500 with 46re shifting problems

Hi i recently had my 46re rebuilt and immediately after installing it i had a problem with stalling in reverse and sticking in 2nd gear. I tried adjusting tv to both extremes and everywhere in between finally settling on the best adjustment still occasionally sticking in second gear. I have only put 3000 miles on this rebuilt trans and yesterday had to fight to get it out of 2nd into drive just to make it home. this morning ran down to the store before working on it and now it refuses to shift outta first and when i seems like it shifted into second it just revs. blew code p1756 but i think that was from high revs in 1st gear. please help if you can!

Take it back to the shop that rebuilt it. Tell them what is going on. They should make it right.
