The dreaded tranns code... I have a 2000 dodge ram 1500, 5.9 gas, 46re. The problem im having is a recurring tranns code p1740. I bought the truck will 100k mi on it not sure if the transmission valve body pressure boost valve cover plate has been replaced (i read in a tsb something about some orifice not being large enough on the plate) 1 month after buying the truck the code popped up, luckily at the time i had a 1k mi warranty. I would have to let off the pedal and wait a second or to for it to shift. Took it to the dealer, they swapped out the 2 solenoids/filter/fluid.... Code = gone/no more symptoms.... 1 month later the code came back. The truck shifts fine, and has no symptoms at all. I've cleared to code multiple times, and the code come back with a vengeance after 30 miles..
Any ideas what could be causing this problem?

no i mean when im doing 60 or 70 down the highway and i floor it to pass it DOWNSHIFTS a gear or two and while its in that gear as soon as the rpms reach about 4000 or so its like it goes to neutral or something. so i always just let off and it goes back into gear. anyone else had theirs do that?
Sounds like the third gear clutches are letting loose under heavy acceleration. How many miles are on the trans?
ive got a 2001 dodge ram 4x4 5.2. the transmission just went and i have the opportunity to get a rebuilt one from a 97 ram 4x4 5.2 with 25k on it for 400 bucks. will a 97 transmission fit into my 2001 without having wiring issues or anything like that? any help is greatly appreciated. thanks.

sluggish downshift when stopping
hoping you can help....my 01 1500 is sluggish to return to 1st if I do a rolling stop or do not completely stop. Gov Pres pak replaced, new vehicle speed sensor and tps all done. No trouble codes. drives great otherwise. wondering if this could be an adjustment or valve body issue?
