Here is a good one...
First of all, what kind of automatic transmission is behind a 8.0L V10, 47 or 48 RH/RE transmission???
Second of all, is the bolt pattern on the V10 the same as a V8?
If so, could it be a bright idea to get an Automatic out of a V10 to put it behind a V8 for tougher internals and more torque holding capacity without sacrificing anything or could there be something I am missing?
Was at the Junkyard today just wondering about the possibilities and now that this thread is here, I just thought I'd ask...
Thanks in advance Monte

The dreaded tranns code... I have a 2000 dodge ram 1500, 5.9 gas, 46re. The problem im having is a recurring tranns code p1740. I bought the truck will 100k mi on it not sure if the transmission valve body pressure boost valve cover plate has been replaced (i read in a tsb something about some orifice not being large enough on the plate) 1 month after buying the truck the code popped up, luckily at the time i had a 1k mi warranty. I would have to let off the pedal and wait a second or to for it to shift. Took it to the dealer, they swapped out the 2 solenoids/filter/fluid.... Code = gone/no more symptoms.... 1 month later the code came back. The truck shifts fine, and has no symptoms at all. I've cleared to code multiple times, and the code come back with a vengeance after 30 miles..
Any ideas what could be causing this problem?

i got a question.... on my 01 ram if i floor it from say 60 and make it downshift to 3rd (could be second, not sure) to pass someone on the highway... as it speeds up and the rpms hit about 4000 it seems to fall out of gear like to neutral or maybe its a slip. the tranny guy in town doesnt know why it would do that. has anyone else had this problem? if i drive it normal and dont dog it, it will not do that. any cure? thanks!

no i mean when im doing 60 or 70 down the highway and i floor it to pass it DOWNSHIFTS a gear or two and while its in that gear as soon as the rpms reach about 4000 or so its like it goes to neutral or something. so i always just let off and it goes back into gear. anyone else had theirs do that?
Also, it's a good thing to post your question here and not PM because someone WILL ask the same question your asking. So for the sake of Monte not answering the same question twice, post your questions here.
