Default Help with muffler removal

So i want to get my Flowmaster 50 series off my truck and put something else on. But my problem is i can't get this sucker off. Is there any method that would make it easier, such as heat (i haven't tried this yet), i would rather not cut it off, but i guess could if i wanted to remove all the dual pipes.

heat will loosen bolts and nuts yes, just make sure u dont get it so hot u bend the nut instead of breakin it loose. and of course good powered air tools help. wosrse comes to worse. u could just cut the nut and bolt off and get a new clamp.im asuming u have it on with clamps since u said u cant get the nut off.

The clamps crimp the steel where the pipe/muffler overlap as well. Heat 'em up nice, and try and rotate it it to 'reshape' the metal. (wear gloves..... heavy ones....)

Just cut it off. You will spend valuable hours of your life trying to get that crimped/rusted mess off. If you cut it off right at the muffler ends you won't lose much pipe.

Yeah, thats not a bad idea. Thats what i did to have it put on. I could just let em put on the new one and finish with whatever pipe is left over.
