Default Modded Kegger.

I have been lurking around here for a while now and decided to mod a kegger and bore the TB. Here are some pics of my progress so far. Any suggestions are welcomed.

What did you use to carve out the excess in the manifold?

I am using a dremel, and the reinforced cutting wheels, and it is slow going......

believe it or not I used a 5" angle grinder with a zip cut and then a 1/4 inch disk I started out with die grinders but it was too slow. I just cut down as much as possible with the zip and then do then shape it with the 1/4 disk then I used a pencil grinder with a carbide burr on it.

Did you have problems with the burr loading up?

Ill tell you right now a reciprocating saw is f-ing fast at doingthat. Then the parts you cant get you can use a cut off tool. Youll need a friend to hold it though.

I put some walter cool cut on it which is like a wax and its designed for drilling and tapping
and it keeps it clean for a bit but it still loads up a bit. You can buy burrs made for aluminum. But I have a bunch of the carbide ones from work so i just change them when the get loaded up.

it took me maybe 2 hours to do the cutting and alot of that was cutting the divider out. I am undecided if I will epoxy it as well. I am tempted to try some jb weld as the epoxy. Does anyone have any thoughts about it? My TB is getting bored on a mill to 52 mm and I am going to add a msd 6a box and coil and wires and headers if I ever go back to work.

No on another site they fill the intake with epoxy to the top of the runner. From what I read it reduces the volume inside the intake which gives a better flow. Not too sure if I want to do it or not other people achieve this by putting pieces of metal called turtles inside the intake. I will see if I can post a link to what they are talking about

Hhhhmmm.... I am thinkin' that filling it in, really isn't going to make that much difference. I am working on mine, and I am more inclined to REMOVE material, rather than adding more...... Having the large plenum volume isn't going to hurt, and filling it in may do more harm than good.... Wouldn't mind seeing some dyno numbers from some testing though.
