I'm curious about the "drinking" oil being indicative of a leaking gasket. Do you mean burning oil? Leaking oil? Oil just disappearing? As in you check your oil one week and its normal, check out the next week and its a quart low?

Your scheduled maintence, flush coolant, oil change, adjust rear brakes, F/R bands, trans filter/fluid change etc. And save the rest of yer $$ for gas

Mine does this trick..... I go thru about a quart of oil every 100 miles. The only time it smokes is the first start of the day, and for about a quarter mile, then, no more smoke. Plenum has been done, Mopar PCV valve, and leaks have been dealt with. The oil just sorta 'vanishes'...... I seriously doubt the smoke at startup can account for that kind of oil consumption, and I would think this thing should smoke like a diesel if it is actually burning it... but, I can't find any other reasonable explanation...... Not like someone is siphoning oil out of my truck at night.....

I have not done a compression test yet, as quite honestly, I don't really wanna know at this point.....

Between the cost to gas to fill our truck plus $$ for the oil too I guess it just goes to show how much we like our rigs! It's funny how some of these guys complain about "all" the isssues with our trucks..if it's that bad, then sell it man..and quit your crying!

My 'plan' is..... once I get where I am going to be living dealt with....... to find another motor, and rebuild it, then just drop it in when it's ready. I don't have to drive all that far, so, the oil consumption isn't too much of an issue. (I use the friggin trip odometer to monitor oil level...... is that sad or what?)
