408 stroker build
well, after a trip to my buddys machine shop and a couple hours, heads have been blasted, block rehoned, valve spring pressure was 140 at half compression. clearances checked with micrometers (not plastigauge!) and everything cleaned pressure washed and oiled. ready to put together
ok so regarding the hone, the surface is not 100% perfect. he said i may get some ring flutter, but aside from boring .010 over and getting new pistons/rings and having the pistons machined to set quench at .040; this is my best option.
hes an awesome guy, dont get me wrong, he did me a big favor, but i want this build to be flawless...

What are your mid flow numbers like, that's where the power is.
For the record, I have not run the Eddies, the I made 300 RWHP with the R/T heads with a 2bbl m1, mild cam and a 55x52 TB...With new 236/242 cam, m1 4bbl and 58 TB, I gained 3 tenths in the quarter so I'm well over the 300 mark. DA was over 8000' the day I was on the Dyno.
I'm guessing you'll make a little less than 300 HP, but a **** load of torque.
less than 300hp? no way, the stock 5.9's were just shy of 250hp...
my r/t flow #s are just shy of yours
EDIT: wait, are we talking RWHP? the cams pretty stout, did you check it out? it is a hydraulic roller, the blank before grind was however solid roller. fully compressed spring pressure is 390lbs
