Depends on the quality of the head. See what it would cost to have yours set up for the 2.02 valves, and compare that to the price of a set of heads that come that way. (I think eddy's can be had for about 700 a pop, fully assembled, but, no porting, or other fancy work.)

Something else to consider, ALL the heads start out as basically the same casting, and then are machined to accept the 'right' parts. The major problem on the stock heads was the deck casting was too thin, leading to cracking, especially between the valves. If it is a "better" casting, not nearly so much of a problem. If they are "stock" heads...... might be a risk. I don't know if the R/T heads were any better/worse than what came on our trucks stock.

Did a bit of poking around, and it seems opinions vary on what flows better. Fair number of folks think the Iron Ram heads actually flow better than the R/T's??

Link to the heads you can get? Please? Something I suspect I am going to have to deal with in the not so distant future.

Yea i did read on the hughes site that the iron rams flow better... good advertising or truth, idk?

as you were saying smaller valves are better fow lower rpms... so questions is what is considered low? this engine would never ever see 5500 +

ive also done some digging and some folks seem to think the smaller valve in addition to some bowl porting is a great combo and better than that of a 2.02 beacause velocity decreases as the valve size increases...hmmm if theres this much debate it may not be worth spending money to "upgrade"

Company seems to be in clearwater florida as well..... same company? Who knows.

No clue on the pricing for the machine work. Haven't had to deal with that for quite some time.
