Jacked up the rear end today(had to chain truck up and go chew the solid ice driveway up). Anyway jacked rear end up and as i was getting ready to toss the chains on i pushed again the driver side rear tire and noticed a very slight amount of play(enough to make a noise like the brake drum is moving) but not enough to feel.. Got me curious sooo i went to the pass side.. and same exact thing. Is this a bad sign? or is this normal? Im pretty worried....
ive never noticed on mine......but having play cant be good.....since its a straight axle with no options for a flex (unlike the front)......id go into depth with it and check everything out to be safe.
josh, was this on your 1500 axle? if so it may be the play in your axle housing with the axle shaft. also it could be rear wheel bearings. id keep an eye on it, but wouldnt get too nervous over it.
