If you get silly with the boost, and don't build your motor with boost in mind, yeah, you will blow it up in short order. My brother had a turbo motor with over 200K on it. Its all in the build, and maintenance.

360 will give more bang for the buck, and is just as reliable as its smaller brother. Again, its all in how you build it.

i will probably keep my 318 and slowely build it, but the 360 is the same thing.. slightly higher numbers, at lower end.. so thats what i need.. but i am going to need to do what i can right now.. i drive this truck daily.. and need a working motor

yeah you are correct in if you build them right they last... i also wasnt saying the 360 was going to make less power than the 318 just simply saying that imo if someone says hey ive got a mildly built 318 under the hood rather than a built 360 under the hood im gvivin the guy with a 318 more props because no one ever builds a 318.. but i agree the bigger power is ganna be made with the 5.9 over the 5.2

I don't care about the 'cool factor'. I am more interested in what works. That's one of the main reasons I don't spend money on "prettyfication" parts. It has to contribute something other than aforementioned 'cool factor' or looks, to find a place on my truck. If it doesn't make it better at what I want my truck to do, I won't buy it.

thats a big thing with me too, i built my truck for one reason, drive to the mud hole, play around, and drive home.. and for the most part, it has done that.. very well...

i beat my truck everyday.. so more props go to the guy who can sling the most, so the more power is what i need, i mean with it being as cheap as it is.. the way im gettin it.. its fine

hows having a built motor either way not what he wants it to be? this guy just said he could a 5.2 cheaper. if he buys the 5.2 instead of the 5.9 and does everything he just mentioned he's ganna have more money to play with and do whatever and the power is ganna be close to the same as the 5.9 and he just has to rip the old 5.2 out (with a backhoe probablly cause that truck is massive..) no messing with the tc just ttake one out and put the other in... "cool factor"

Because money in your pocket doesn't make your truck more capable. Dollar for dollar, the larger cubic inch engine is going to make more power. Which for a mudder, is exactly what he wants.

im gvivin the guy with a 318 more props because no one ever builds a 318..
Cool Factor.

the 5.2 is cheaper so he'd be able to put more money in it making more power. i agree if he gets th 5.9 and does what he said he wants to do hes ganna make more power thatn doing the same mods to the 5.2. but the point i was getting at is the 5.2 is cheaper so he could possibly mod the 5.2 more forn the same amount as doing just the mods ha mentioned too the 5.9

The one hundred dollar difference is not going to make up for the difference in power. Power is not cheap.

That $100 could go to something that makes up for the power...Like a throttle body spacer.
