Why 4.56 and not 4.88 gears? With 35" tires you'd really enjoy the 4.88 gears. Just a thought. About a week ago I posted a RPM/Gear/Tire chart that showed you what RPM you'd have with a tire size & gear. I'll see if I can find it for you.

If you don't spend a lot of time on the freeway, 4.88's with 35's would indeed be a nice boost.

Haha but i ride on the highway like 50% of the time. I'm sure 4.56s will give me enough power for them 35s. 4.88s would be amazing but I don't only drive in the city.

My goal is to beat my buddy's chipped duramax. I raced him stock and barely lost due to his turd going into limp mode.

Going by this chart in D or 3rd gear with an Auto or 4th gear in a manual your looking at 3045 RPM at 65MPH so then take into account overdrive and it will be lower. Even with driving on the highway I would get 4.88 gears but that is me. Do you remember what your RPM's were with stock tires on the highway?

I like to sit at 1900-2200 rpm on the hwy (55 mph), to be running up in the 3000 rpm range its just not right, and with the kegger and small cam it losses its ***** at 3500 rpm. To each their own.

I actually can cruise at 60 on the highway and my rpms will stay slightly over 1,500. I really don't wanna be that high up there because it sucks gas once it leaves the 1,500rpm zone.

I'm not sure on stock size though. I'll be puttin my stock tires and wheels on next month so I could see.

Well now remember I said this was in Drive not OVERDRIVE so in overdrive and at 55 with 4.88 gears and 35" tires you'd be at 1,804 if your OD is .70. Right now I forget what a 46RE has for a OD gear.
