alright man, i will prob end up doin it, just hate too since thats a brand new pump thats in there..Love this truck, always have, been thru alot with it, i have saved it and its saved me, so now im tryin to keep it going. Runs great as far as you can tell, but that gauge dont lie, not sure why its that low when only 112k miles on it. Also does the HV pump use the same pickup tube? thats brand new also. Thanks.
If it ever dies and i gotta get a new truck im gettin a cummins.

ok got the mechanical gauge installed and at warm idle its pullin about 15-20psi, have yet to drive it but i did idle it up a little maybe 2k or so and it got up around 40psi, so you think im good? remember its oem stuff, not high volume. and i was able to ground out the original electrical connection, no light on dash, but my dash gauge does read that its pegged out aha. thanks for all the help guys.

i've been told by lotsa old timers that dodges are known for having really low oil pressure at idle but it's always a concern watching/hearing that stupid "check gauges"/chime go off...was gonna do the same thing by grounding it, except a little more permanent...i've done the high volume pump also...didnt see a difference until i started using heavier oil...i should rephrase that...it was ok at first but the problem came back after a while, I know after 220 kms things in the bottom end aren't as tight as they were when it was new, so the 15w40 seems to help...hope it works out for ya...
