End-all Be-all plenum thread
Well I do not think mine is hammered yet. 98k miles, no smoke, not using oil.
I did look down in the plenum when I had air cleaner off had had little residue by the PCV area.
Does not mean it is not going to happen though so I guess I am going to start getting timing chain, water pump, gaskets and plenum kit a little at a time until I get all the parts.
Anyone have any luck with those Ebay plenum plate kits? They are like half the price of Hughes.

OK, I just searched this thread for the word "weld" and didn't find it, so I think this tip from Novarider deserves to be a part of this thread. He made it in reply to OtisB ("Sick of plenum problems") whose (aluminum) plenum gasket repeatedly failed:
"You could take the intake and plenum plate to a machine shop and have them weld them together. As long as they are checked for leaks when it's done you should never have to think about it again".
That's what I'm going to do when I do my plenum plate kegger mod. Let's see that try to leak.

Don't see why it wouldn't be 100% effective. Any good welder with a TIG or a MIG with an aluminum feeder attachment can do it. (Obviously, it has to be done with an aluminum plate, not the stock steel one).
If no one's done it yet, I might just end up being the first.
