tip: check the connectors on the temp sensors on the front of the intake. one of mine failed, plastic very brittle, and i have to splice in a new one. truck will only start when cold without it. these connectors dont seem to be very strong after 300000km.
If you are talking about the bolts for the pan, there are 15. They are 1/4" grade 8 but I do not remember the length (already installed plate). They are slighly longer than original as the aluminum pan is als 1/4" thick. Depending on where you buy the plate, bolts oftem are included. Make sure you clean out bolt holes first and use thread lock!
I'm sure it has already been mentioned in this thread, But,
TIP: Assuming you are using new intake bolts(i'm not talking pan bolts) like you are suppose to. Cut the heads off a couple or four old ones, screw them in a little and use them as guides to seat the intake. If you leave them long enough, you just unscrew them by hand. If not, cut a slot in the end and you can use a screwdriver to remove them.
I know this has been mentioned, but somehow I doubt anyone reads the whole thread.

I also have been studying this thread some, along with other write ups and videos. I have a 94 ram 5.2. Once I get home from work today, I will be doing the checks for the plenum but plan on doing it regardless. I am really new at this stuff and don't have much experience but will be picking the brains of family members who are. My truck was free from a family member has about 172k miles on it. It blows a little smoke when shifting, I always smell a burnt oil/fuel smell. This morning, when it was idling I noticed it smoking some. Like I said still learning but I appreciate the available info...excited to get started but like others have said, I am really nervous about breaking a bolt which sounds like will happen. Will probably be asking questions! =D
Well I did it! the plenum is in no broken bolts all sensors are back together and it is running fine but now I have a check engine light on so tomorrow im gonna have it scanned and see what it is!
