End-all Be-all plenum thread
Really? My plate is 60 bucks plus shipping versus 90 bucks plus shipping from hughes, that's 30 bucks right there, that is your oil change and your coolant needed for the intake plate replacement. Every auto parts store I have gone to always has the preferred Fel-Pro gasket on hand, never have had to order one and wait.
I would offer a package with the gasket set but do not see the point as you can get it for the same price I can and I would have to increase shipping costs do the the larger packaging and added weight.

I have a metal line thats in the back of the intake under the egr valve that runs down to the exhaust manifold. cant seem to break it loose at either place any suggestions? And can I do away with that crap when I put it back together?

Finally got off my butt and installed my Hughes plate, while I was at it also changes my valve cover gaskets, the bolts on the covers were not even finger tight.. Had no problems and the entire process took about 10 hours. Thats including lunch and a couple trips to auto parts store. It was a hell of a lot easier than a heater core!!!!

I replaced the plenum plate and gaskets about 2 weeks.. and when I turn it on it idles/revs on its own at 2 RPM I'm thinking there is a hose which isn't plugged in but from what I can see everything is plugged in right. There is also this burning smell... kinda "sweet" I was told that is the gasket sealing heating up... I haven't driven it since then and I don't know what's wrong... anyone have a similar problem after replacing the plate?
You have a pretty serious vacuum leak somewhere, or, the IAC is stuck..... try cleaning the throttle body first, there is a DIY in the faq section for that. (I think.)
Check your oil, see what it looks like.... also, check other gasket areas to see if you are losing any coolant.
