Well do you have a local NAPA store? They should be able to even order a torque wrench in for you at a reasonable price. That's where I got mine.

What the heck are you reading for 12 in-lbs on the huges kit. Step 1 is 48 in-lbs.

Here is link to directions from their site: http://www.hughesengines.com/Upload/...orcementV8.pdf

Also, these are the same directions in the Haynes Manual.

Napa carries a 3/8" drive torque wrench for this with the lowest being 50 in-lbs.

That first step CAN be done with just seating the bolts in the order.

Yes, that is the plate, and i have it installed. I was refering to the intake manifold specs for putting the kegger back on the heads....they call for 12 inch pounds on their instructions.

Good of you to clarify what bolts you are talking about. I've quoted your first "help" post to show the confusion you injected. Just sayin'.

It's more important to follow the sequence. Hand tightening the bolts will roughly get you to 50 in-lbs. After you get the first Round (72 in-lbs) complete, then follow as best you can the steps.

The Hughes instruction was making an effort to simplify the FSM instructions.

Default Just one last plenum thread here.....Need some ideas.

Yes so this will be one more plenum thread...need some ideas here...

So far I have a good sized list of what I am getting done while I am in there doing my intake plenum...

I have already bought the Hughes engines Plenum kit. I will be using the gaskets and bolts and thermostat from that kit. (http://www.hughesengines.com/Index/p...=&partid=27091)

here we go..

full engine gasket kit - $110 (something similar to this http://www.hughesengines.com/Index/p...=&partid=27722)
Cap-$2
rotor-$5
wires-$25
plugs-$1.95 each (NGK) (any other brand you guys recommend?)
Water pump- $35 (GMB I believe)
belt-$18
Radiator hoses- upper $11, lower - $8
Heater core hoses - $9
Pre-cat o2 sensor -$43 (brand recommendation??)
PCV - (need price)
Air filter - (need price)
TPS -$40

Still need the prices for the timing chain. Any specific brand anyone recommends? I am also looking at getting a variable timing chain kit. My boss recommended that.....what is your guys thoughts on that?

At some point I will also be dropping the oil pan so I can access the front and rear main seal and replacing the oil pan gasket. The valve cover gaskets, fuel injector o-rings, TB gasket, will also get replaced.

Is there anything here that I am missing? Anything that I should change? Thanks for everyones help...

@stewie I think you may be talking about this one? w/ the 3 keyway crank sprocket? http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,ca...,parttype,5756

@redneck_ram Ok thank you, I will have to check that as for some reason I thought it would be behind the timing sprocket on the crank.

thank you!
