Transmission experts, please help me answer this one

does anyone have a pic of the spring on the out side of the tranny. im pretty sure i hooked mine up wrong when i did my od solenoid replacment

It should latch onto the upper lever on the shift shaft and latch the other side toward the bellhousing.

Can anyone help me I have a trans problem, my 01 RAM 1500 will not shift into 4th gear and/or overdrive doesn't work. Anybody know why this is happening.

Pull your pan and see what lurks inside. Depending on your findings, worst case your pullin the tranny, best case you've got a new filter and gasket. Try a band adjustment while your at it too if you find nothing unusual in the pan.

bruce that sounds like your O/D selenoid or govenor pressure selenoid is gone....BIGRED why did you replace yours?

Oh thanks and I don't get any bad tranny codes would it still be the o/d selenoid or governor pressure selenoid

The PCM seldom sets codes for failed trans parts, even when it is patently obvious they HAVE failed..... not entirely sure why that is.....

thanks z, and i replaced my od soleniod becase i lost o/d as weel, but after less that a week i lost o/d again. im gonna bench check the new soleniod and replace the gov transducer and see if it helps

oh yea ive also been getting a p1757 since my o/d stoped working the 2nd time, that why i figure its the transducer
