Default Windows always fogging up w/ heater or AC

Smells like a burning odor when I turn on the heater. The windows fog up instead of clearing.

Any ideas? Bad heater core? I didn't notice any leaking.

More than likely heater core. If it's not leaking yet it probably won't be long.

I agree with the previous poster as well. You won't always notice leaking. Does your window have a greasy film on it? If so it's the heater core.

Do a search for a DIY. Or look at this one.

ok guys, heres one, 2000 dodge durango, got great heat, windows have just recently started fogging up and stay fogged up even with warm air blowing out. No ieaks on the floor, no wettness on the carpet, do smell the hint of antifreeze. Notice a ton of moisture coming from engine compartment as if a/c was on. What do you think?

Your heater core is leaking, and draining out the a/c condensor drain.

I don't know if anyone has suggested this, but it sounds like your heater core is leaking.

Might want to look into washing your windows too.

not to hijack the op's thread, but what if there is no leak, no smell, no fogging, but yet the heat works but very sporadically and better on the low levels then high? still heater core?

That means either the heater core the hoses, or some other part of the cooling system is clogged.
