Well I was poking around today to see how the whole suspension set up works and look at what I discovered

I wondered why it was so damn bouncy lately
Seems this lift might happen a little sooner than I had planed, once I'm in there might as well do it all at once

would there be any lift or just compensation for sagging springs?

Either or. It depends on the stress your factory springs have. If they're sagging already, it'll lift it back to normal, at least. It may lift it higher than stock. Just depends. If your springs are in good shape, obviously you'll gain a little lift and not have to compensate for anything.

That depends how much your original coils are sagging. Because your upper control arms can only handle up to about 3" of lift before it throws everything off... But hey try it out and see. Also, I'd recommend lift blocks In the back... Just b/c of stories I've here about them shackles giving out offroad..

On our trucks, the lift shackles are SHORTER than the stockers..... If built correctly, they should be stronger..... should be.....

Blocks are fine for lift if you don't do serious wheeling..... if you do though, blocks give the axle more leverage on the springs, and lead to things like axle wrap, and terminal wheel hop..... I am just not a fan of lift blocks.

Well Ive searched all morning and havent been able to find the stock specs on 1500 2wd coils but the OEM replacement springs for a 2500 are
Inside Diameter=4" Wire Diameter=.828" Free Height=13.06" Driver Side/12.72" Pass. Side

So if anyone can find what the stock specs are on the 1500's we can find out what the potential lift will be, not to mention the OEM replacement 2500 coils are only 65 bucks which is cheaper than any spacer Ive seen and wayyyy cheaper than lift coils from Doetsch or Fabtech

i dont plan on going over the 2.5/1.75 lift. im just wanting a little bit more room to work with a more aggresive tire and the added bit of clearance to make vehicle maintenance easier. and i completely agree about the blocks. ive chose shackles over blocks everytime just because its a dd, plus the fact that i prefer the looks of them more.
