OK my question is why if the high flow cats are only 100 bucks would you go through all that trouble and cost to bypass it?

Well, I've heard of the high flow cats still throwing codes. Not all the time, but...

Well, if I get that tuner for 75 bucks and rod the cat.... no welding required! Trying to get everything done in my driveway and I don't have a welder.

o I understand that.... but you can use pipe clamps to install one in a situation like that...I cant weld either....I just bought a magnaflow 23285 (186 bucks shipped but it includeds the mandrel bent head pipes which has most of the pipes welded already...I just have two connections to clamp or weld.. (I have a 96 with no y pipe though. the y is the cat).
Its replacing the same magnaflow system currently on the truck with no codes... The pipes just rusted through, they are at least 7 years old since they were installed by the first owner.
Werent you just talking about how you were replacing your entire exhaust system along with like $2,400 in other stuff? but your worried about the cost to have someone weld a couple things?

Just because I have it doesn't mean I want to spend it... lol. Queston is, will any old exhaust shop do it? Or does it have to be a CUSTOM exhaust shop? I'm having a hard time finding matching exhaust syatems. I.E. I'll find a replacement Y pipe (with CAT) that bolts right up to the stock manifolds with 2.5" exit, as it should. Then, EVERY CAT back system I find has a 3" I pipe. WTF? I can't find "Expanders", so aside from fabbing some **** up, how is that supposed to match up?

Any shop with a pipe bender, and a guy that actually knows how to run it, should be able to fix ya right up.

Can't tell where you are, but there's no sarasota-bradenton around these parts....

There are a few good exhaust shops up here in ocala if you feel like driving. I paid $225 to have true duals and tips welded on.
