trans temp
That was my understanding as well.
On my 96, I sure don't have to drive it far when it is bitter cold out, before it will hit O/D though...... wonder if that was an advent of later years, or, my temp sensor is just lying to the PCM.

It's a high pressure line and I'll bet it'll blow those slip on lines off one day. I used one hose clamp and it blew if off in the parking lot and I had to get a ride to get 5 qts of ATF, so now I have three hose clamps and 2 zip ties on the line and 5 qts of spare ATF in my tool box.
maybe the newer trucks have higher pressure lines but both of my trucks have at least 2 rubber lines that are hose clamped on. i think with the correct hose clamps and high pressure hose i will be ok.
Sorry, but the sending unit is so far out of the flow of fluid, it's pretty much useless. Been there done that.
That's why I suggest getting this. It's worth it.

Worm drive hose clamps have to be re-tightened after the first heat cycle, and then again after a few more heat cycles -- or they'll leak pretty much every darn time. It might take them a while to get started, but they'll leak eventually if you don't touch them twice after installation. After the second tightening, they'll hold on tight for years and years.
