Here's what's left of a 5.9 after boost and an SCT toon (dyno tooned, not even the hokey email toons). It had about 1000 miles on the toon.

The choice is up to you, but I would get as far away from the stock computer as I can with boost.

Also, you will need new injectors despite having a regulator. The 6AN rails are really just for show.
Yes, I know all about upgrading the injectors. But I have the fuel system in place and ready to go, no issue with supply.

Figured it was dyno tuned, nothing new for me. Had my diesel on the rollers a few times.

Motors apart and at the machine shop being cleaned up and checked out. After talking to the guy lastnight turns out rods are in decent shape but he highly recommends me getting some eagle rods like I had planed, bolted on the ARP main studs and line bored, going to be doing the bore and hone with torque plate tuesday.

I just need to figure out what compression I want to run in this thing. 93/+ octane isn't a problem, should I stick with 9:1 or bump it up alittle? Pistons are going to be custom so my options are endless...

I wouldn't go much over the 9:1 if you are gonna boost.

A 24 valve common rail motors are stout motors. My buddy had one in his OBS ford that runs HARD!
