Default tranny fluid change, what a nice surprise.

Well i am long over due for a fluid change to my shame when i dropped the pan i found all kinds of sluge which i expected. Dodge however was so kind to equip me with an extra bolt, incase I lose one. I was wondering what that pinging noise was for the past month.

That bolt looks like one from the VB. Make sure none are missing.

Could be from elsewhere, Like the VB itself. Just look for any empty holes. but this pic might help.

It's not that bad if it never has been changed before.

On a side note, I'd pull the Gov solenoid and clean it. And also, only use ATF+4 when you refill it. A band adjustment done correctly would also not hurt.

Yeah zman its one of those. The only problems i have with it is the first startup of the day. When i put it in gear, it takes about 2 or 3 seconds before it moves. Other than that, if i put the pedal to the floor it wont shift up til i let off the gas a little. That doesnt happen all the time though, once in a while. Other than those 2 things it chugs along just fine.

I'd would clean or replace the Gov solenoid and adjust bands if I were you. Replace with one of these. You don't have to get it there, you can call around to local tranny shops and see if they have them.

I bought the truck at 89k miles and it has 106 right now. I'm almost positive he had tranny work done and he did have a good size cooler put on.
