Those are all great gear manufacturers. I am getting Motive's for mine when I do the job, but that's because they are the cheapest high quality set I can find. Go with the G2, save some dollars.

Are you talking about the G2's? That's interesting to hear. Was he running large tires and big power? I assume so. Unless it was a freak thing with a flaw in the manufacturing of the ring gear?

is it worth having a LSD that is working? how important is the friction modifier? there is a tag under the hood on my ramcharger that say something about a limit slip differential. i can just tell by the blues sealant on the rear differential that someone has been in there and every time i find stuff that has been done it never seems right.

^^^ I am going to be changing the ring and pinion because it is missing a tooth and possible some chips out of it, however to do this i am also going to have to get a new carrier because the chunks of clutch left some marks in so i figure i might as well get an auburn LSD while i am at it and be done.

I think the truck that blew them apart had a rear D44, behind a V-8, and 37" tires...... Combine that with hard wheelin', and it isn't really surprising he blew them apart.
If you have an LSD, you WANT that friction modifier in there. Otherwise, you eat clutches, and it turn itself into an open rear.... at best....
