So far as I know, they will all have that threaded snout, that's where the fan screws on...... Don't think there was ever any application for the magnum that didn't have it....

Can you move the fans in front of the radiator, use 'em in a pusher configuration? I know it's not as efficient....... but, space is rather tight there....

I have seen one without the thread, but the boss the thread is on was still there… so it was probably a manufacturing mistake.
And still wouldn’t save any distance.

The only one I can think of is the 98 Grand Cherokee but I'm not 100% positive on it & it still uses the same water pump. And no I can't move the fan to the front there isn't any room. I'd cut the threads off this pump when it was on my old engine and had ran it for 2+ years.

I cut the threads off the new water pump and will see what happens with it.



It's been suggested that I might try doing a couple of spot welds where the pulley meets the shaft.

As far as I know yes it is. And yes the suggestion of some tack welds has been made.

The pulley for sure came off the shaft. I was wondering if the shaft might have broken.



It's been wobbling on the shaft as it's lose when I tried to put the pulley back on.



I'm not sure if the FlowKooler pump really makes a difference in cooling or not.



Does having the cover over the impeller make a difference?



It all looks good in here.



New pump is installed.



Everything all back together.



I got tranny fluid in the bucket of coolant so I had to run into town and pick some up.



Got it under vacuum and it's holding whish is a good thing. So it's time to fill the system with coolant.



Got it running and pulled out of the garage. Man this thing has got some POWER.




Now my next issue is that I have VERY low oil pressure when it's idling. Low enough for the Check Gauges light to come on.

Put a mechanical gauge on it, and see what pressure really is. Might just be a bad sensor. (one would hope.....)

The sensor is good but not totally accurate. My oil pressure is dropping down to about 6-7 PSI at idle. Prior to taking the top end apart for the head gaskets & then the broken rocker arm my pressure was dropping down to 12-15 PSI. I just can't figure out what I might have done to make it drop in half like that.

Exactly what HeyYou said, the dummy light in my 97 comes on at 20 psi. The dash gauge only registers between 35 and 45 psi, but the mechanical gauge shows about 30 at idle and 65 above 1000 rpms when it's hot.
