I don't know what the deal is. I won't bad mouth a vendor without cause and these guys are really pushing it with me. When I ordered the pushrod I had an email from them later the same day saying the price had gone up $3 or $4 and I had to say it was ok. After that nothing.......................And like I said I even filled out their contact form asking about a status update. Since I hadn't heard back from them after 2 days I finally called. And the guy on the phone didn't apologize or anything just said they were shipping tomorrow.

I'm glad you had good luck with them. I wish I could say the same.

Well I have all my parts other than the push rods which shipped yesterday.
So I started taking all the tape and paper off the block and other parts I had painted. The block looks GOOD with the Hemi Orange & the Silver.

First thing first I installed my new cam and then thrust plate.

Next was the timing chain. Had to get the wife to help because with the tensioner the chain was too tight even with it pinned off.

So that was as far as I got with the engine and then had to stop and come watch a movie with my daughter. After the movie I plan on going back out and working for a few more hours. We'll see how far I can get tonight. I still need to degree the cam.

Redneck,
Been told it is always better just to check it instead of ASSUMING that everything will be ok. I've done a few cam swaps and just put them back together but I am going to degree this one so I can learn how.

Well now I am really unhappy with Chrysler Direct. When I talked with the parts guy on Thursday he told me that I would get the pushrods by EARLY next week. To me that means Monday or Tuesday well I just checked the tracking status on UPS and the parts will not be here until FREAKING FRIDAY!!! So I'll have the engine together other than push rods. Then I guess I'll pull the Jeep in and start taking it a part.

I got everything setup and verified my TDC first. After that I moved on and degreed the cam. Once I did it I found out the it really isn't that hard to do.

Next I installed the oil pump and oil pan. This is looking great and it is coming along good.

Tomorrow I'll have to go into town and pickup some oil. I need to soak the lifters and also the H&S Roller Rockers. It is getting close and soon I'll be dropping it into the Jeep and lighting this thing off.

Looking good, Soak your RR'S not your lifters. Pour oil over them (lifters) once they are installed in the motor.

Well no work on the engine today. I did pickup some oil with zinc in it like H&S says to use for soaking the rockers in. Also got some oil to lube the lifters with when I go to install them. I hope to get the engine all together this week so maybe sometime next week I can start swapping the engine into the Jeep.
