I haven't been on here in ages, sadly lost my dodge this winter, but I had to sign in to compliment your rig and motor! I am in WA, too, less than an hour east of Ellensburg. Depending on what I can find in my area, I may be traveling that way to have my motor rebuilt for my new truck. It ain't mopar, but I hope to be building a 400hp 318 after I finish, if I can find a decent job. Seems like nobody wants to hire a 17 year old, everything is restricted to 18 and up. If you want a challenge, try buildin' a motor on a lawnmower's budget. Can't imagine trying if I had any responsibilities other than school.

Thanks for all the pics and info!

Well not much of an update just finally got to order the rockers, studs and guide plates.
But I did decide to mix it up a little bit and mix and match the rockers. I got Scorpion Endurance Series Roller Rockers. For the intake I went with a 1.65 ratio and for the exhaust I went with a 1.7 ratio. Should help the engine breathe a little more. And I also have a adjustable pushrod coming so I can measure everything and make sure I get the right length ones for it.

Leaving on a 12 day camping trip on 3 July so when I get home all the parts should be here. Then I have 2 weeks to work on the engine before I take off on a motorcycle trip for 10 days to Utah. Once I get back from that trip I hope to be able to install the engine into the Jeep finally. Busy summer so have to fit the wrenching in between all the trips. I just got back from riding our bikes to California to visit my parents over fathers day.

Well I finally got something to report on. While I was gone on my camping trip I ordered some of the parts I needed. Funny thing is some of the parts didn't get here til today and I ordered them on 30 June.

The water neck I ordered must be for an older 360 as my holes are closer together. So no fancy thermostat neck. BUMMER

So I got the Number 1 cylinder done first and then used the adjustable push rod I had bought to check for length. I lucked out and the stock push rods were the proper length.

Got a stud conversion kit from Jegs it is made by Crane Cams and has the studs 3/8 top and bottom, guide plate and guide plate insert.

I went with Scorpion Endurance Roller Rockers with the intake in a 1.65 ratio and the exhaust in a 1.7 ratio.

I finished off the left bank tonight with getting all the studs installed. Threw on the rockers just to get a picture. Will get them all adjusted tomorrow and then start on the right side. I am getting closer to having this engine done and ready to install in the Jeep.

Looking good there WM, what did you set your valve lash at? I have tried from 0 to one turn and found my best results are about 1/2 turn from 0.

From Richard @ HiPoTek and they come in Red, Blue & Black. I think he also sells a plain uncoated one too. He also sells the ends with the hoses and stuff.

If they made a dual cam 32 valve setup I'd be trying it.
But hey it does have the 2.02 intake and 1.62 exhaust. When I tear it back down for the stroker build I'll get some work done to the heads too.

Right now I only have done the #1 cylinder and I did a full turn on it. So you're suggesting I back it off to a half turn? I've got to take it back a part cause I need to oil the push rods.

Had a stressful day going to drop off my motorhome to be worked on and then trying to pickup my motorcycle. They have had my bike for 22 days and I had called them last week to tell them I would be coming TODAY to get my bike. Then when I call to ask them to have the bike parked out front and ready to go because we were trying to make a doctors appointment for the wife they tell me it isn't even ready yet. Then when I get to the dealership they are just finishing the bike so we head out to see if we can still make the wife's appt and make it 2 blocks down the road before I have to turn it around because the shimmy I had in the front end and had asked for them to fix (under warranty) is now WORSE!!!!! So when I walk back into the service department they try to blow me off and tell me I'll have to wait and make a new appointment to get it fixed. Well that was it I lost it and told them I wanted my bike fixed and fixed right and that I wasn't leaving there until it was fixed.
I'm home now and my bike is fixed. I don't get pissed like that often but when I do................................................ .....................I'll work on the engine tomorrow.

I think that is the sexiest piece of auto eye candy I've seen in a good while, awesome! Btw, what's the damage so far price-wise?
