5.9 Rebuild on the cheap: Now Just Empty Every Pocket build.
Merc,
Yep I know what a wire brush looks like and I even have a few of different sizes in my tool box. But I am lazy and like my air tools better. But now that I have learned that I shouldn't use air tools I'll go back to the old manual method. Except when I am doing a total tare down then I'll use air tools.
So I had gotten the engine all taped up yesterday and then started painting it today. So here is after the first coat was shot on it.

And then here it is after 3 coats and I ran out of paint. I will wait and see how it looks and decide if I need to shoot it with a few more coats of paint.

Once I am done painting it I'll take the pistons out and clean everything up.
I am waiting for some more bolts and studs from ARP to come in before I start assembling the engine. Decided since I had it tore down again I would bling it up a little with some ARP stuff.

Well this isn't anything exciting but I figured I'd share anyhow. I couldn't sleep last night so I went out to the garage and grabbed my spark plug wires and some new wire separator clamps I had bought a long time ago. Brought everything into the house and sat in my recliner and put the wire separator clamps onto the wires.
Now yes I know about the TSB for the wires but I have not had a problem before with my wires being together. I did run the coil wire above the other wires for a just incase.

Wires 2-8 plus the coil.

Wires 1-7

So there you have it, all the excitement I had last night. It is a nasty day outside so I'm going to take it easy today.

Good god those are so beefy looking wires!!!!
I think the tsb isn't necessary unless you use super cheapo things wires with bad insulation.
At least I haven't had a problem either
Tell me more about those wires!

Go check out http://performancedistributors.com/ and see the distributor caps & rotors plus plug wires. They are the Live Wires and you can get a performance package that has car, rotor, wires & coil. Or just the wires by themselves.
Well guys things might get put on hold AGAIN!!! It looks like I might be getting divorced soon so my funds might be tied up in BS for a while. I'll keep you all posted.
I did finish painting my engine yesterday.
