5200 Lbs for my 2500 4x4, so none of you 2wd 1500's are even near 5000... I am getting 13.3ish with 35's, stock gears and a 5.9. That is not terrible. I haven't had most of the rest of the problems either.
I hauled some stuff to the dump a month ago, and empty the scale said 5900, i did have some tools and usual stuff, i was pretty surprised... but then a again on my there i did stop for coffee
My 98 2wd qc with a little bit of stuff in the toolbox and 3/4 tank of fuel weighed 5640 leaving the landfill with my dog and kids so subtract our weight and the truck was 5260. I usually avg 13.5 MPG with 3.55's but got a hair over 14 cruising down i75 @ 75 MPH last week . Was 11-12 when I had 33" mt's.
Depends on what you have in mind with the dizzy..... if you off road a lot, and go thru deep water, behind the manifold is the most protected spot. In front of the manifold, and the dist is in serious danger of getting wet..... at which point, the engine stops running. In the middle of the creek, that would be a problem.
