While you in there inspect your oil pickup screen make sure it's not clogged up and take some pics of the crank and rods; and look for any signs of wear; breaks; cracks and so on..
On the transmission thing; I just want to run this buy you because I thought at one time too the problem "Shake Shake" was maybee the tranny; but the thing is when you have your breaks on.. everything from the turbine (inside the TC) back is not moving and is not engaged.
I can feel the same shake shake still just not as heavy (Or noticeable) it's there but it seems to be transferred more when your brakes are not holding the wheels. As well as in Park.. Putting In drive or reverse just magnifies the problem.
So that basically points to either mounts or engine problem. I've asked my Brother to come do comp test today and see what the readings are.. Hopefully get some numbers up here.
Wont be able to do a leak down on her bc we don't have a air compressor at my disposal with out going to my fathers and i frankly don't have the gas atm.
Had to make the wifes car note.. LOL.
Anyways Just wanted to share this..

Hey Jon, I never noticed it in P..in D & R for sure..That for you would make sence. You did say your mounts are hard right? As mine are not. And I should feel it all the time, sure less pronounced in P but it's really only flet @ 5mph and then in the 40-45mph range..I'll ck and see if I feel anything in P..I'm bettin the pump screen is jacked up. I'm looking foward to cleaning it and the tube..pics shall be shot Same thing here no compressor but I would buy a complete new cylinder head anyways. Actually there's a shop down the road from me who had a partially wrecked 1500 being dropped off the other day when I passed by, I should drop in & see if their parting it...Your gonna do a dry/wet at least that should rule in/out bottom end issues..Def post them #'s..I get back at ya later with my results too...

Yeah it's not going to feel the same* or as 'present' as in D,R but it's there.. Anyways my Brother came over and here are the results of the Dry Test.
1. 178
2. 175
3. 178
4. 186
5. 170
6. 185
7. 165
8. 176
All with in range. Number 7 seems a little low.. but well with in range. and even higher than my average compression value.

7 really isn't bad it's just that 4/6 are up there! Those are some good #'s..I gotta ask, you did each at least twice? Just askin Yeah I really didn't feel anything..I did pop the hood and the only real shaking was in the motor mount heat shield(s)..The OE plugs didn't changed nothin!(I know, I know you don't have to say it ) Another TC test I'll try in the morning, 'use light throttle to get the transmission into 3rd or 4th gear, just as you feel the vibration lightly tap the brake pedal. This will force the torque converter to unlock, if the vibration disappears TC shudder is the problem' also going to throw my old coil back on (wasn't bad when I replaced it)...checked again, after dark and no wire issues..I replaced my u-joints not to long ago btw..I really do need a trans filter/oil change and when I do it I'm going to put a universal drain plug in the pan. This way after approx 500mi I can change the fluid easy and repeat after another 500mi..get ALL the old crap out of there...Someone asked "do you feel the shudder/shake in your hands (steering wheel) or your butt (the seat)" Makes me wonder cause there're so many things that cause the shudder issue...You still going to do a wet test? O and when I had the hood up it sounded like a vac leak on the drivers side..sprayed carb cleaner around the IM, no rpm change tho..don't remember ever hearing that before? Peace!

It's the Power Stearing Pump making that Vac sound; that's what it is on mine and its common on Dodge it seems; Ford makes a whining. Dodge makes a vac leak sound.. nothing to major..
As far as your shudder in upper speads; I think you might be dealing with two different things.... or.. your TCC is just locked in and your getting more of the feeling into the drivetrain just as if you were sitting still as the torque seems to either make the problem dissappeer or hides it. Kinda what happens with a timing chain to sticking valve.. idle its irradiate but under throttle seems to clear up.. i think the same kinda thing.
I'm starting to wonder though how bad your's actually is though.. if you give it gas your shudder if it's the same as mine and others that never found/reported a solution... should go away under increased RPM.
And I agree 4 and 6 might have some carbon built up.. and yes I tested it twice on each.. and the higher ones we tested 3 times to be sure the readings. My brother is convinced it's not compression related though.

A: If the 'drive it like you stole it' is true then I wouldn't have the shudder issues?
B: But if the 'drive it like you stole it' rule isn't true wouldn't PCM relearn work?
C: What about tuning the PCM (SCT)?
The answer to A is yes becauce the shudder is only at low rpm's even at 40- 45mph..If I motor through 40-50 there's no shudder/hesitation...I shall post possible reasons why trucks shudder...
