Engine and Plenum fixes...

Be very careful when you drill your pilot hole. Try using a nice punch to get a good center mark on that stud. The last thing you want is to get off center and allow that easy out to hit the actual head or block. If that happens it will be time to let a machine shop get it out and pay the pros.

I read up on it, gonna head to CT once the GF gets home and I have access to a vehicle. Wish I lived closer to most of y'all
Thanks for all the help with a lot of this, and the praise. It's a learning process as I go. Would love to get a few things bolted back ONTO the truck before I go. I took a lot of pictures, but still prefer fresh in my mind
I'm going to pick up a torch and a few other things, then set to work on it.

SUCCESS!!!! It took some time, it was dark, and I had the GF holding the trouble light, but with a torch, vice grips, hammer, and air hammer (and some minor cursing...) I was able to get out both of the front bolts without having the drill. Very happy with the progress. Tapped the two holes (did the rest earlier, and the holes for the timing chain cover) and called it a night!

Need feedback...
Did I just pooch this? Was putting in the new rear main seal. It came with a little tab of paper that was working great until the end when it ripped. I pushed in hard to try and limit contact with the sharp edge, but when I was finished was left with this:
(Put by the old seal for reference sake)

I'm just going to assume yes. Unfortunate, as I wanted to button up the bottom and even some of the rest of it before leaving to train in Florida for 2 weeks. Hopefully I remember where everything goes upon return.
Going to pick up some of that storage oil/marine fogger someone wrote and spray the whole area in it.
