Yeah I have the low end but not the 40.. thing.. that kinda makes me wonder though.. when you hit 40.. your TCC is not engaged untill 45. Thats when you hit overdrive.

So it's when your in 4th gear.. So my question.. what if you wromp on the gas.. instead of normal.. when you hit 4 is it still there?

Have either one of you had your bands adjusted per the service schd? Power Flusehd the tranny? Any metalic 'flakes' or might appear like sawdust.. in the tranny fluid when you drain/drop the pan?

I am thinking that if you feel a shudder at 40 as it is shifting into OD, you are low on pressure to OD clutch cylinder. I have no such shudder, but firm engagement.

I was onmy main road in town today and there was a diesel next to me, so I was gunna show my buddy what the shudder felt like but the diesel next to me(it was a ford) revved her engine so I went a little faster than normal and powered right through fourth gear and felt no shudder, I thought it was strange...I also drove with my od off today and hit 40 no shudder again, yeah so now im more confused than ever, could it still be my plenum or is it my tcc?hah, now im super confused

Make sure your ignition system is in good shape. Cap/rotor/plugs/wires, and you have good fuel pressure. If it only does it once warm, try disconnecting the front O2 sensor, and see if the symptoms persist.

It sounds like a miss...... mine would shake like a junky without a fix after four days.... when I had a couple wires crossed....

DoorKnob77, like I was saying in post #30 if I power through it, aka keep the RPMs up through the 40-50mph range no shudder! Same at any RPMs with the OD off..Jon, I plan to adjust the bands when I change the trans filter/fluid...gdstock, my only thing with that is that it's not just when shifting into OD the suhdder remains within that range with low RPMs..HeyYou it happens cold/warm/hot checked the wires route procedure 3x now + all new cap/rotor/wires/plugs and the plugs are OE copper champs..I do have a P0308 do to a bad EV and maybe cracked seat too...

I really think you guys just need to go through all the very basic maintenance stuff.. stop replacing parts that are not show up as defective and concentrate on all the basics; tune up; transmission service; adjust the bands.. make sure they are all adjusted to spec.. check your mounts, engine and tranny.. replace if needed.. I never relized my tranny mount was toast till i took it off.. (Start jacking up on it really then i could see the big tear on the side where it was seperated from the metal mount it self..

Same for your engine mounts.. Patt's already done his plenum and still have it.. so long as it was done correctly.. if you have not done so already replace the 02 and Check/Replace the Cat.. you can also simply cut the cat off (Cold of course) and as long as the honey combs are still good in there check if its clogged up.. if yes.. you can try to clean it.. (YouTube videos on how to do this..) or replace it..

Once all that basic stuff is done then we can rule all of that out. I feel on these issues shudder off idle and shudder above 40.. (4th gear and into 45 (OverDrive) I kinda feel on all these posts we are running in circles..

Again I wish we had an all in one thread... everyone could go step by step with.. LOL

+1, but until something is done about it, I'm sticking with clogged cat. It's too common to ignore. If after doing something about doesn't correct the problem, then we can move on to other troubleshooting procedures.

I hear ya.. I've never had shudder in higher speeds.. the occasional hiccup that you can't quite make out; is it a miss or did i hit one of those little groves where one pavement meets another.. or concrete divider.. thats like a little blip..

Mine's the off idle shudder- Foot off break.. no gas at a stop.. where you would normally roll.. shake shake shake through the entire truck.. give it gas and it instantly disappears. My Cat has been swapped 3 times.
1. TO a Magnaflow 'direct fit' -dad helped me blow that out with some bad fuel.. it went booooomm.. when I finally got the truck running again.
2. I replaced that one with a Catco.. which i went back to Magnaflow.

Stock cat looked nice and clean inside when it came out.. and that was 120123K. The shell was rusted to hell and back but the inside honey comb nice and clean.. no cloggs or anything.

Ive done tune ups.. MAP IAC (recently) TPS.. TB cleaning... SeaFoamed.. countless fuel injector cleaning products.. plugs wires.. you name it ive done it..
Lots of other stuff.

That was after tranny shop and deal both told me mountswere good.. to find out a few weeks ago tranny mount is actually shot.. replaced.. 70% shake went away.. 2 days later.. shake is back with vengeance.

Next week I'll get the Motor mounts.. then i call it a day and run this dodge in the ground till she either gives up the ghost.. or trade it in for a 70's bronco.
