Flushing the debris from the TC into the rest of the trans will not fix anything. And thickening the fluid will not produce a positive outcome. Unlike motor oil, the function of the trans fluid is not improved by viscosity enhancement. It is the difference between lubrication and hydraulics. Just saying.....

So No flush on the transmission then? I can't afford to have it drop on me, If I replace the fluid in the transmission, could I find the shavings?

Yes, they will be on the magnet and in the pan. You'll see what it looks like inside when you drop the pan.

Also in the fluid in general.. will look like sawdust.. or gold dust.. kinda floating around. Don't be surprised if you find grey gunk on the mag or bottom of the pan.

As far as the power flush.. I'm not talking about a Jiffy Lube Special rather a real service to the Transmission by a reputable transmission shop.. draining the tranny wont get out what's in the Torque converter nor the lines nor the cooler in the front of the truck. Esp. if something is clogged up.

Doesn't matter who does the flush and how they do it. As far as I'm concerned the results are not worth it.

Trouble is, a flush breaks loose all that crap, but, doesn't always (rarely) get it all out of the system.... and the debris drifting about loose tends to clog/jam valves, and the trans quits working. If the trans hasn't been flushed regularly all of its life, doing so is a big gamble..... If you really want to change out the fluid, do a trans service (fluid and filter), install a drain plug, and once a week or so, pull the plug, drain the fluid, and replace with fresh.

okay, so no on the tranny flush... the shudder has completely gone away as well. I went out for a drive yesterday hit 40 not so much as a jump from 3rd to 4th let alone my entire cab shaking, is this a good or a bad thing?

I was planning on doing the universal plug thing when I service it, any day now ...just wondering if you have heard of any neg results in doing so? My concern being why the F didn't they install one at the factory..and it can't be because of the service interval, because what would that have nothing to do with draining it without making a mess...

The question is how long before it starts again..and I believe when it does another fluid change is called for..aka the safe flush method..I'll be posting a shudder update soon! glad to hear it's gone tho..

Okay, will the safe flush method be in that post? and what will I need to get for It so I know what to buy?Working on getting my muffler off and checking the cat. The brackets are real rusty it's goin to be a while.
On another note I'm not loosing oil like I have been. Should I be concerned?lol. However my antifreeze leak isn't so bad now Either? could they be connected with the shudder problem? somethings over heating?
