Mine's the off idle shudder- Foot off break.. no gas at a stop.. where you would normally roll.. shake shake shake through the entire truck.. give it gas and it instantly disappears. My Cat has been swapped 3 times.
1. TO a Magnaflow 'direct fit' -dad helped me blow that out with some bad fuel.. it went booooomm.. when I finally got the truck running again.
2. I replaced that one with a Catco.. which i went back to Magnaflow.

Stock cat looked nice and clean inside when it came out.. and that was 120123K. The shell was rusted to hell and back but the inside honey comb nice and clean.. no cloggs or anything.

Ive done tune ups.. MAP IAC (recently) TPS.. TB cleaning... SeaFoamed.. countless fuel injector cleaning products.. plugs wires.. you name it ive done it..
Lots of other stuff.

That was after tranny shop and deal both told me mountswere good.. to find out a few weeks ago tranny mount is actually shot.. replaced.. 70% shake went away.. 2 days later.. shake is back with vengeance.

Next week I'll get the Motor mounts.. then i call it a day and run this dodge in the ground till she either gives up the ghost.. or trade it in for a 70's bronco.
It sure will be interesting to see if the tranny/motor mounts are the problem, but I highly doubt it. Never know I guess , but I still doubt it.

So long as the misfire on #8 keeps showing up, nothing is going to fix it.

Well this weekend mean no work so I can dive right in, check the wires, the plugs, caps, rotors, plenum, cat, damn near everything I can. And if I have the money I'll do a power flush and see how that goes...ill try to check the engine and transmission mounts also, any suggestions when I do any of this?

Power flush? On what? Tansmission? If so, be prepared to have it rebuilt!

Sounds like a variation of the problem I've been having. About a year or more ago I started having problems with the truck shifting correctly then noticed what felt like a skip. Done the wires, plugs (3times), rotor and cap, coil, some sensors here and there, plenum fixed, cleaned out the throttle body and IAC and just last month replaced the IAC.
I posted on this before BTW. The transmission shifting issues got better when I cleaned out the throttle body and IAC but if I put weight on the throttle the transmission would again not shift until about 3000 RPMs. As for the skip (or what I thought was a skip) I got my mechanic to ride with me and he said he couldn't feel or hear anything that felt like a skip and suggested I get some new tires, shocks etc. I tried that too and it didn't help.
Here recently that skip started feeling like you all are describing and the transmission wouldn't shift until the engine reached 3000 RPM after I get off the interstate. After I replaced the IAC (throwing money at it) it improved a little. It now shifts at 2500 RPMs after I get off the interstate. ONCE in a while it will hesitate a little at stop light now.
A coworker told me about a friend of his who owns his on shop so I took my truck by there today. He hooked it up to his computer and took on a test drive. The computer indicated the transmission solenoid had 0 to 1 psi and the torque converter was an issue also. He said he had a special going on and quoted me a price of $750 to rebuild the transmission with an one year warranty on it. I won't be able to get it done this month so we'll have to wait until next month to see if it fixes the problem.
FWIW someone else had a thread on here with similar problems and he stated a $200 fix corrected his. He took it to an Ammco shop in NJ and they fixed or replaced the solenoid in the transmission and added some additive to his transmission fluid.

I never relized my tranny mount was toast till i took it off.. (Start jacking up on it really then i could see the big tear on the side where it was seperated from the metal mount it self..

Same for your engine mounts.. Patt's already done his plenum and still have it.. so long as it was done correctly.. if you have not done so already replace the 02 and Check/Replace the Cat.. you can also simply cut the cat off (Cold of course) and as long as the honey combs are still good in there check if its clogged up.. if yes.. you can try to clean it.. (YouTube videos on how to do this..) or replace it..

Once all that basic stuff is done then we can rule all of that out. I feel on these issues shudder off idle and shudder above 40.. (4th gear and into 45 (OverDrive) I kinda feel on all these posts we are running in circles..

Again I wish we had an all in one thread... everyone could go step by step with.. LOL
Jon, dude come on bro, I'm not a master mec but dude that hurts a little Just a little tho

@ Pat.. LOL man.. :P

@ garam I've actaully already replaced the Gov. Transducer and the sensor.. and a transmission guy thats been in the biz for 30 years now recommended an additive sorta like the lukas to the transmission.

Torque converter is most probable if it is in the tyranny or a clogged line somewhere..

If the tranny has tons of shavings then the actually trans already needed to be replaced before flushing. You can limp it along by putting Lucas in.. its thickens up the fluid a little.. not much but a little..

Point of the flush is to flush the TC and refill. Nothing more.
